Prince Jackson: I want to continue my father’s path (with an on-stage interview video)
At Friday night’s ceremony held in support of the Bambi charity, Prince appeared on stage.
He brought three handwritten notes from his father to be sold at an auction for the benefit of this charity that supports children in need. The handwritten lyrics of Bad, Billie Jean, and Smooth Criminal will be sold at auction on November 10.
Speaking to an audience of 800 people inside the hall, Prince said:
"My effort is to continue my father’s path by doing these things. I’m also trying to help others and make changes, just like he did." Four hours after the ceremony, the price of the handwritten lyrics of Bad reached $20,400. Prices are expected to go higher by November 10.
One spectator said:
"Prince Michael is an incredibly polite young man and very well brought up. I think we’ll see even more of him in the future."
At the end of the ceremony, a choir made up of 30 children sang Michael’s song We Are The World, which moved many attendees to tears, and even Prince became a bit emotional.
But after all these events, Prince showed that—unlike his famous father—he has the life of an ordinary teenager. He told reporters:
"I wish I could stay in Berlin longer and visit the city. But I have to go back to school."
We’re very happy to have you here. We’re glad you arrived safely. Have you had a chance to visit the city?
Prince: I flew over the city. I wish I could stay longer and see the city. I remember that in 2002, we visited Berlin together with Dad. I love Berlin. Germany is a great country. But unfortunately I don’t have time to walk around the city.
Host: Well, maybe next time you’ll have the opportunity. You were in Germany with your father before. Do you remember anything?
Prince: I remember that when he won an award, he brought it to the hotel and I wanted to play with it because it was a small golden deer. But he didn’t let me, because it was a very important award and he valued it a lot, because it was a sign of his charitable activities.
(Michael received this award as appreciation for his humanitarian work on the 10th anniversary of the Bambi charity foundation in 2002.)
Host: Your father had a huge heart and was known for his charitable actions.
Prince: To change the world, you only need one voice. My father delivered his voice through his music and songs like "Change the world" or "Heal the world," which made people care about our planet.

Prince: I brought this book, which was written by my grandmother and also signed. And I’m signing it now. We also brought the handwritten lyrics of my father—Bad, Billie Jean, and Smooth Criminal.
