Frank Dileo Has Died

Frank Dileo (Frank Dileo), Michael Jackson’s veteran tour manager, has died at the age of 63. Earlier this year, in Farvardin, he underwent a heart bypass operation and suffered complications from the surgery. (Read more). Over the past few months, he had not been in good health. The Michael Jackson Foundation, John Branca, and John McClain reported his death and paid tribute to his memory on Michael Jackson’s official website.

Statement from the Michael Jackson Foundation Regarding Frank Dileo’s DeathWe are deeply saddened and distressed to inform you that Frank Dileo has finally passed away, and early this morning (midnight last night, Tehran time) he gave his soul to the Creator.

Frank had immense creative power within him, a big heart, an influential personality, and a great character that made people pay attention wherever he went and whatever he did. He also cared deeply about Michael, his children, and his fans.

When Frank was working at Epic Records as senior advertising consultant during the release of the album Thriller, a friendship formed between him and Michael. In his bestselling autobiography Moonwalk, Michael wrote:

“Frank worked extremely hard and over the years proved that he was my right hand. His clever and deep understanding of the recording industry is priceless.”

Frank managed the Bad tour, which was immensely successful. Even when their professional collaboration ended, the bond between them remained and their family friendship continued. In early 2009, during the preparation stages for the This Is It tour, Frank was once again invited to work as Michael’s tour manager.

After Michael’s death, Frank’s presence was extremely valuable to the Foundation. He provided us with insight that, likely, no one else could have had except him.

John Branca said:

“I had the honor of knowing Frank Dileo for more than two decades. He was not only one of the most prominent veterans in the music industry, but also my close friend and the friend of everyone who had the chance to meet him in their lives. He was unique. He had a special personality. He was genuine and pure. We loved him dearly, and our hearts will be missing him. Our hearts are with his family.”

We think of and pray for his wife Linda, his son Dominic, his daughter Belinda, his grandchildren, all members of the family, and those he loved.
