Review of Michael’s Album Performance from Last Year
In its latest issue, Billboard announced the best of last year (2002). Michael appeared on several lists:
- #43 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums with the album Invincible
- #8 on the Top Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Albums with the album Invincible
- #12 on the Top Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs with the song Butterflies
The magazine states that Michael’s success with Butterflies is impressive. The last time Michael reached such a ranking in an annual roundup was in 1983, when Billie Jean was #2 and The Girl Is Mine, his collaboration with Paul McCartney, was #6. (Note that due to some issues with Sony Music, the song did not even have a music video.)
