Defense lawyers object to a prosecution witness
Conrad Murray’s defense attorneys, who are accused of murdering Michael Jackson, are trying to prevent testimony from one of the prosecution’s witnesses. This witness is a specialist doctor who believes that ingesting the deadly drug propofol is not what causes death.
One of the theories raised by the defense lawyers is that Michael personally caused his own death by accidentally taking propofol. Forensic medicine has said that an excessive amount of this drug in his blood caused his death.
The mentioned witness, named Steven Shaffer, conducted two studies showing that a person’s death cannot occur as a result of swallowing propofol. In one of these reviews, six volunteers took this drug and all of them remained healthy. In the second study, the experiment was carried out on pigs and the same result was obtained.
The defense lawyers say that because these studies were conducted by this doctor himself, they lack scientific and legal credibility.
We must wait for the court’s ruling and see what Judge Michael Pastor decides.
