Aljandra talks about Michael Jackson’s children

Aljandra, the former Jacksons’ daughter-in-law, in an interview with the London newspaper Sun on the second anniversary of Michael’s death, described Michael as an exemplary father and said she greatly admired his children:

“Blanket is shy around strangers. But he’s a good actor, and when he plays a role, he comes out of his shell. He’s also a great storyteller. He can talk for hours and keep you entertained. He is very creative. He loves Star Wars and wants to dress like a Jedi.”

“Prince is stubborn and very clever. He has a lot of information and can talk to you about any topic. He loves watching historical and scientific documentaries and likes directing. Along with the other kids, he makes home movies.”

“Paris, my lovely princess. She has very girlish behavior. For example, she loves painting her nails. But she is very blunt. She loves acting, and she has wanted to do it since she was a child.”

Aljandra says the children have their own unique behavior in mourning their father. For example, on the day Michael died, Paris sat in her room and cried. But until now, she hasn’t seen Prince cry—like he keeps everything inside and doesn’t show it. Whenever Blanket is upset—for example, when he loses his doll—he starts crying and, in the middle of his tears, says: “I miss Dad so much.”

“(Michael) was their best friend. They loved him more than anyone else in the world. They miss him terribly. We all sat together and talked about him. Michael’s children wanted to talk about his songs and what they meant to them.”

“We always played Michael’s music at home. They would fall asleep with the same classic music that Michael always played for them when they went to sleep. In many ways, Michael never left them.”

“This year, things have finally returned a bit to normal for them, and they are gradually coming to terms with his death.”

Earlier on this page, you read that Katherine Jackson had asked Aljandra and her five children to leave the Hayvenhurst home. Aljandra, who had lived in that house for more than twenty years for free, wasn’t willing to do so. Michael had given Aljandra the large Hayvenhurst mansion in Encino on his mother Katherine’s birthday. Of course, ownership of the house remained in Michael’s hands, and he covered its expenses over the years. He also paid his mother Katherine a monthly allowance.

In 1989, when she was 17, Aljandra began a relationship with Randy, Michael’s married brother. That December, they had a daughter named Genevieve. Randy’s daughter and his wife, named Stefania, were born in June 1990. In 1991, Randy separated from his wife. Randy Junior, Randy and Aljandra’s son, was born in October 1991, and their other son, Dante, was born the following year. After that, Randy separated from Aljandra. In 1995, Aljandra married Jermaine, Michael’s other brother. Their son Jafar was born in 1996, and Jermajesty was born in 2000. Jermaine and Aljandra separated in 2008, but Aljandra did not leave Hayvenhurst. Previously, Aljandra had sued Jermaine because he wasn’t paying her monthly allowance.

Following the follow-ups by the trustees of the Michael Jackson Foundation, 41-year-old Aljandra finally left Hayvenhurst. The foundation didn’t consider it wise for her to remain in that house and for her living expenses to be covered as before, given Michael’s wealth. In addition, the court for children and families had determined that Katherine Jackson, despite having many grandchildren in Hayvenhurst, was not able to properly carry out the duty of caring for Michael’s children that had been assigned to her in the will.

The foundation had promised Aljandra that it would provide her with a free apartment, only if she agreed to give up writing a book about the Jackson family. But Aljandra wants to tell her story. She refused to comply with Katherine Jackson and the Michael Jackson Foundation’s request to forget about this book.

Now that she won’t return to Hayvenhurst, she says Michael’s children need love, and she is worried they will be raised by their guards and nurses. Of course, it’s clear that she is only concerned that she can no longer live in the beautiful Encino mansion. With three aunts, 5 uncles, and a grandmother, plus many friends, it doesn’t seem that Michael’s children would need Aljandra’s love—especially since she herself has five children.
