Jamie King says in a video about preparing Michael Jackson’s Immortal Tour
The online team of the Michael Jackson Foundation sent us the link to the video below. In this video, recorded inside the creative room for Michael Jackson’s Immortal Tour, Jamie King—the tour director—talks about Cirque du Soleil shows and her team.
She sits in a room where she says creative ideas for the tour came to her. Jamie, who has spent the past few months away from home in this same room, says the purpose of recording this video is to tell fans that everything she does is out of love for Michael, and she is sure that fans expect the same from her.
Jamie King reads this tour as a love letter to Michael and his fans, and says they have a team drawn from different parts of the world. Michael could influence people from anywhere in the world, so it was very important for them to prepare a multinational team for this tour.
The leader of the tour’s music group is Greg Phillinganes, who worked alongside Jamie on the Dangerous tour, helping with Michael. Jamie was a dancer for the Dangerous tour. The Talga brothers—designers and dancers for Michael on the History tour—and Travis Payne, a dancer and Michael’s longtime collaborator on the Dangerous, History, and This Is It tours, are also part of this group.
At the end, King says that staging this tour is a dream coming true.
