DJ and Rap Singer Throw a Birthday Party for Michael Jackson

Rap singer Q-Tip has announced that he plans to throw a birthday party for Michael this August. DJ Spinna will join him. The event will be held at 9:00 PM on August 27 at Irving Plaza in New York City.

The rap singer said: “Michael had a huge impact on my music and was an inspiration to me and many others. I want to bring people together to celebrate his presence, his music, and his legacy—which without a doubt will live on forever.”

Tickets for the event are currently on sale for $20.

Also this July, Spike Lee—director and one of Michael’s friends—announced that he will hold the third birthday celebration for the King of Pop on Saturday, August 27, at Prospect Park in Brooklyn, and invited all people to take part in the celebration. Last year, more than 25,000 people attended this event.
