Chris Hunt Responds to Critics of the Michael Jackson Memorial Concert

Media outlets around the world have covered the issue of Michael Jackson fans opposing his memorial concert in Wales. In this regard, the CEO of the company organizing the concert, Chris Hunt, felt the need to respond to the criticisms in an interview with the BBC. He says that opposition to the concert is understandable, but it is wrong.

“The goal of this concert is to show people once again how amazing Michael was, and what a great tragedy it is for the world that he’s gone. He was such a great singer and a phenomenal showman. So why has this concert been called inappropriate? It’s not understandable. Fans were saying it’s a shame that no proper tribute was held for him. Hunt also said about Jermaine, Michael’s brother, who opposed the concert: “I have a special respect for him. He himself said several times that they wanted to hold such a concert, but they couldn’t. I can understand why he’s upset now.”

“We have a special place for the fans. We’ve listened to them. We think a campaign has been formed—some fans have listened to it—but they still haven’t heard our responses. This concert is selling very fast. We have no concerns about that.”
