Austin Brown: a new music phenomenon in the Jackson family

Austin Brown is the young son of Rebbie Jackson (the eldest child of the Jackson family). He recently appeared on George Lopez’s TV show to talk about growing up in one of the most famous music families in the world and about the help from his uncle Michael. He also performed one of the songs from his new album titled All I Need on the show.

Austin says he feels very lucky to be Michael Jackson’s nephew, because the King of Pop helped him establish himself as a performer.

"Since I was a kid, I traveled around the world with my uncle on the History tour. And I watched him do his job flawlessly. What a genius! His work was amazing. I could see the process of what he was doing."

"The amazing thing about my family is that they always left the door open for us to do anything. Me and my cousins could jump into the work with them, have access to whatever we wanted, even travel with them, and watch their rehearsals and the recording of their songs. Growing up in such an environment and watching what they do was incredible."

Although Austin is grateful for the opportunity his family has given him, he knows he has to find his own place in music.

"They have big achievements. But those achievements belong to them, not me! I’m just a kid who loves playing with soul music."

Austin’s album is called "85." It’s the year of his birth.

"Music has been with me since day one of my life. I was lucky to have it with me throughout my life. I want to put everything I’ve learned into my own path."
