The Metal Box Secret

Karen: Michael and I were waiting at Neverland for the kids’ bus to arrive. Michael was rummaging through his room, looking for something. Since I’m a curious woman, I asked him, “What are you looking for?” Michael said, “I’m looking for my most adorable thing in the whole world,” and that made me even more curious… He said, “I found it!” and he pulled out a heavy metal box. Like the kind of box we used on tours to store our things. I can say it was a square box about a foot and a half (about 50 centimeters). Fortunately, when he threw the box onto my lap, I was sitting down. I had no idea what could be inside the box. He joked with me a little. I had to prepare myself for anything. When I started opening the box, there was a sweet smile on his lips. I told him, “I don’t think I can trust the look on your face”… and he said, “No, really everything is fine”… and slowly I opened the lid of the box.

It was a slide viewer device, along with a hundred slides.

How cute was it? Right… very cute… Of course, I had to look at some of the slides… Michael has many slides from places all over the world. He says he used to look at these slides and see himself in those places in his dreams.

This really impressed me. I was sitting there next to Michael, and he… shared one of the richest and most famous people on this planet… one of his most valuable possessions with me. And it was a slide viewer device.

I love Michael.
