DVD Release for the 20th Anniversary of We Are The World

Twenty years ago, on January 28, 1985—two hours after the 12th Annual American Music Awards—Michael Jackson, along with 44 other artists, secretly gathered in the AM recording studio in Los Angeles for 10 hours to create one of music history’s masterpieces. We Are The World is the first song in the music industry to receive multiple multi-platinum awards, leaving a record in music history. In just one month, the song received gold, platinum, and in some categories multiple platinum certifications across all fields. As the best-selling single of all time, We Are The World was registered in the Guinness World Records and remained in that position. Until in 1997, the song "Candle in the Wind_ 97/ Something About the Night"—written by Elton John in tribute to Princess Diana—took We Are The World’s place. Today, We Are The World is still considered the second best-selling single. And without a doubt, it is the number one global anthem—and maybe it will remain so forever.
