Michael my friend Michael Jackson's biggest nightmare is over... that's a relief for him. When the trail began, I looked him in the eye and asked: 'Is it true, Michael?' He answered: 'You know the truth, Deepak'. Michael is eccentric, but I know he's not guilty of a criminal offence. Let's not forget that Michael is an independent person. He confuses people -- he's sexually, racially and culturally ambiguous. Grace, the nanny of Michael's children, used to work for me. She told me: 'Michael's not guilty, there's nothing to worry about'. In the past few months, I've seen a delicate side of Michael. I'm glad that phase is over. I first met Michael 20 years ago. He was in his 20s then and quite a celebrity. In fact, Michael was one of the biggest success stories of the 1980s. He's a very interesting boy and like family to me. He comes home often for Indian curry. I was touched when, even during the toughest days of the trail, Michael would ask me: 'How's your family, Deepak?' Michael meditates for 30 minutes, followed by deep breathing exercises. He was advised to follow this regimen twice a day to ward off anxiety attacks. Over the years, Michael and I have had talks on meditation and how to deal with stress. He told me that he meditates regularly. Michael still feels frail, emotionally and physically. He wants to move on. After the verdict clearing him of child molestation charges, Michael and his children spent a week with me in San Diego. He plans to stay in the Middle East now. I think being away from the US will do him good. Michael has been through very anxious times, but that's all in the past now. He has told me that he now wants to pay attention to his career and make great music and movies." As told to Nona Walia Source: Times of India / eMJey
