Majority of Prosecution's requests denied Once ex-Neverland security guard Brian Barron finished his testimony yesterday, attorneys argued over some key motions before court recessed until Monday. Judge Melville denied a Prosecution request for testimony to be provided by a domestic violence expert. The Jackson trial is not about domestic violence and “it would be a mistake to allow it,” Superior Court Judge Rodney Melville said Thursday of the prosecution’s attempt to portray her as a battered woman. Defense attorney Robert Sanger argued the prosecution was trying to give the woman a “pass” for committing perjury under oath. “She has committed perjury in this case from the stand,” Sanger said. “This is not because she’s a battered woman, it’s because she lies for gain.” April.21_Michael Jackson.JPG Judge Melville also denied testimony by Kassim Abdool concerning an alleged incident with Vaseline. Abdool was one of five former employees who sued Michael for millions of dollars for wrongful termination a decade ago in a trial that lasted six months and which Michael won - forcing the employees to pay him a total of $1.4 million. The Judge allowed other testimony to be provided by Abdool. A Defence request was granted for evidence to be presented concerning Gavin and Star Arvizo masturbating at Neverland when Michael wasn't even at the ranch. Melville allowed testimony from former bodyguard Chris Carter, but no testimony is allowed from Cynthia Montgomery, a travel agent who worker for XtraJet and was on the flight on November 20th 2003 in which Michael flew to Santa Barbara to co- operate with authorities with his arrest. The Judge ruled that Montgomery is not allowed to testify at all. The court has recessed until Monday, as Prosecutors could not get witnesses ready in time for today. They have stated their case should be rested by next week, allowing Defence attorneys to present their case on behalf of Michael. Source: AP/MJNI/MSNBC/eMJey
