Meanwhile Larry has taken a few days off to play gulf and spend more time with his daughter, and Dough Levine has filled in for him. Larry will be back on the air on Monday, however the Monday show will be pre-recorded because of the Memorial Day which is a national holiday in the United States. Mary and American Idol
On the news today, Carrie Underwood (22) was crowned the American Idol. As always Mary Morningstar, the Border Crossings director, was there and gave us some interesting information about the big day on the today show. She just arrived 10 minutes before the show ends, a long trip from Los Angeles. So congratulations to Carrie Underwood! Of course you can get more information about Carrie on Mary's show "Country Hits USA" which is aired on Fridays.

Also today Country music recording artist Garth Brooks proposed to country singer Trisha Yearwood in front of about 7000 fans at the unveiling ceremony for the 'Legends of Bronze,' honoring the 10 biggest country music artists, at Buck Owen's Crystal Palace in Bakersfield. They have had five previous marriages between them. This will be Brooks’ second and Yearwood’s third. It is not yet known when and where the wedding ceremony will be held, but one thing we know for sure is that Judy Massa will be among the guests! With Judy prepering for his own son's wedding ceremony, it seems that some wonderful days are waiting for her. All the bests to you Judy!

Jimbo Mathus played live on the show
Today on the show, Jimbo Mathus, sat with Larry and they had nice chat together. He also played some nice Blues song live on the show.

Jimbo Mathus Knockdown South is the debut release for Knockdown South records and is his first release since returning to his native Mississippi one year ago. 2004 found Mathus, as usual, in a myriad of musical roles.
Following the success of Buddy Guy’s 2000 Sweet Tea on which Mathus played second guitar, he was again cast as Buddy’s right hand man on the Grammy award winning Blues Singer and subsequent national tour. He was then hired as Buddy’s guitarist for a tour with the famed Double Trouble as rhythm section.

You can buy "Knock Down South", Jimbo's latest CD, directly from Knock Down South Records or his website.

Welcome to the new VOABC website!
Hello to you all,
I'm glad that I'm back with a new website for all of you my friends, listeners of Border Crossings. The show always meant a lot to me. Border Crossings has always been there for me, in my happiness, in my sorrow, during the good times and the bad, and I always felt a big family caring about me out there. The good thing about our "family" is that it knows no time or place. Weherever we go, the family is with us and we can still enjoy hearing about our family members.
I hope you enjoy visiting this website as much as I did creating it. Enjoy surfing different parts of this website and keep posting your suggestions and ideas for a better way of growing our worldwide family.
